Brisbane set list

A pretty busy day for Bon Jovi today, with the boys down in Sydney for the Oprah taping before travelling back up to Brisbane for this show (although the flight is only about an hour and a half). It was Bon Jovi's first gig in Brizzy since 2002's Rumba festival, and the first proper concert there since 1995.

The PBP was incomplete, so thanks to Despina76 for the setlist. She also heard that Richie had a problem with his guitar at the beginning of "Wanted"... Is there anyone who attended the show who can shed some light on that?

  1. Well, I was there, and I don't remember any guitar problems during Wanted. I did notice Richie swap guitars during the middle of a song, which is strange enough that I noticed it, and I thought he might have been having problems with the first one. For the life of me I can't remember which song though!!

It was great to finally have the boys back in Brisbane after 15 years! And the performance was really excellent, no issues there at all, and I thought the crowd was really into it.

The only problem? From a diehard fan like me, the setlist is so ... 'generic', for want of a better term. I mean, even compared to the other Aus shows so far. We got no Thorn in My Side, no Love's the Only Rule, no Dry County, no Always, no Bed of Roses, no Raise Your Hands. Even Bad Medicine - it was a straight song, no Shout or Roadhouse Blues or anything put in to it. When was the last time they did that??!

Maybe the boys were tired after doing Oprah in the morning, but overall it has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure the bulk of the crowd absolutely loved the show. The night was good, the performance excellent, and the crowd was into it. But for me, I just feel they didn't quite give it their all.

Still, great as always to get the chance to see them live again!

  2. Thanks for the review, Michael. Had a feeling before the tour that Perth and Brisbane would get the most "vanilla" sets; looks like Brisbane more so. I think that might be the first time this tour Bad Medicine has been done without a medley, though I'd have to double check.
