First up, I'd like to give a shout out to Big Apple Jovi Girl who had an operation this week. I'm not that much of a "Bounce" fan personally, but I've been playing it for her and admittedly it's grown on me. Just goes to show how influential she is in the Jovi world even away from her blog. ;)
Anyway, I stumbled across this "chain letter" quiz today. You've probably seen them before. A few years ago they were forwarded by e-mail; these days they are typically posted as MySpace bulletins or Facebook notes. This one was kind of fun and Bon Jovi related so I thought I'd share it here.
Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Pass it on to 15 people you like and include me. Try not to repeat a song title that I used. It's a lot harder than you think!
Pick your Artist: Bon Jovi
Are you a male or female: Woman in Love
Describe yourself: Misunderstood
How do you feel: Just Older
Describe where you currently live: Dry County
If you could go anywhere, where would you go: Tokyo Road
Your favorite form of transportation: Mystery Train
Your best friend is: Last Man Standing
You and your best friends are: Blood on Blood
What's the weather like: Any Other Day
Favorite time of day: The Last Night
If your life was a TV show, what would it be called: Blame It On The Love of Rock 'n' Roll
What is life to you: Something to Believe In
Your last relationship: Bad Medicine
Your fear: Fear
What is the best advice you have to give: Stick to Your Guns
Thought for the Day: Keep the Faith
How I would like to die: I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
My soul's present condition: Livin' on a Prayer

Connect with Blame It On The Love

David Bryan: Living in Colts Neck
Here's a pretty detailed interview with everyone's favourite piano man David Bryan. Dave talks about Bon Jovi, his musicals, and life and music in general. He also confirms plans to release a new album later and tour, and he's marrying Lexi Quaas next year too. :)
This quote made me snicker too:
LICN: Any other upcoming projects with Bon Jovi, independently, or on Broadway?
DB: Bon Jovi.We plan to put out a new record in the fourth quarter and tour next year. I have files and I’m putting stuff together now in my studio. I have another musical that Joe and I are halfway through; in between touring I will work on it. I figure [that] if it takes 8 years to get a show to Broadway and I am already 47 years old, I have about four more shows and then I am done! I want to do more work. Chasing the Song is about songwriters… after the ’50’s but before the Beatles came in. I like that…creating, making something out of nothing.
This quote made me snicker too:
Hey, Jon still can shake his butt and get the 16-year old girls to scream (smiles). We remind him that his daughter is 16. We keep ourselves in shape, take it seriously, try to be the best we can be, go as long as we can. It is fun! You get out there and play.

1 Wild Night: Be part of a Bon Jovi revolution
There's an exciting new development in JoviLand.
1WildNight, or 1WN, is a new Bon Jovi community aiming to be the one-stop shop for breaking news and information about the band. The site includes videos, lyrics, setlists, and an interactive forum/messageboard. You can even play an assortment of arcade games with your fellow Joviacs if you feel so inclined (I'm currently ranked 2nd out of 4 in Tetris :P ).
In addition to discussion and games, the forum includes a free live audio and video sharing section. (No officially released material is shared of course, so no harm can be done to Bon Jovi's sales.) 1WN understands that the bootlegging/file sharing world can sometimes seem a little daunting for newbies and hopes to change all that. In the so-called internet age that is the 21st century, why should some fans feel too intimidated to even dip their foot in the water just because they don't have anything to trade yet?
If this all sounded like a sales pitch, well that's because it kind of was. :P ...I'm a moderator on 1WN. But I wouldn't have taken that role on, or even joined the site if I didn't believe in its vision.
From little things big things grow... We're still in our early stages but we've set ourselves an ambitious task to be, quite simply, the best Bon Jovi resource and community on the net. You can be part of our movement, just by joining 1WN, taking part in our discussions and giving us feedback and suggestions.
I believe, with every breath that I breathe, you and me can turn a whisper to a scream. All it takes is the Power of We.
Jump on board today! :)

Happy birthday Richie!
I'd like to wish a happy 50th birthday to our favourite guitar god, Richard Sambora! Born July 11, 1959.
Have an awesome day, Rich.

JBJ's impromptu 4th of July concert
According to Alex Leo:
There are some short audio clips on her blog. But what I really would have liked to see or hear is this:
We went over to the Blue Parrot in East Hampton for sour margaritas and sweeter conversation when Bon Jovi sauntered in with the editor of "Allure." We gawked as we drank and talked about stealing various parts of his wardrobe until he got up, grabbed one of the guitars off the wall and began playing.
There are some short audio clips on her blog. But what I really would have liked to see or hear is this:
He followed up with a short rendition of "Free Bird" before trying to hang up the guitar to massive jeers.

Happy 4th of July
I'm not American so the 4th of July isn't generally a significant date for me. (Although this year, my Australian Football League team lost to the bottom placed team, while my West Australian Football League team beat the top team. Go figure! :P )
But for my US readers, happy Independence Day! Have a good one.
Besides, this is one of my favourite box set songs and I thought it was a good excuse to post it. :P
