Melbourne 2 set list

During the live webcast (which actually went for almost 45 minutes and cut off midway through "Runaway"), Jon promised that Bon Jovi's second night in Melbourne would be even better than the first. I'm curious to see what people who attended both shows thought. On paper, December 10 at Rod Laver Arena had more treats for the diehards but at the end of the day it's still about the performance and atmosphere more than anything.

There didn't seem to be a PBP tonight, so thanks to Despina76 for the set. Some very interesting song placements!

  1. I was there at the Etihad Stadium show. Although the songs played were very vanilla, the show itself was outstanding... The band were really tight and seemed to really enjoy the night. Jon particularly looked like he enjoyed "Sleep" and doing Jagger impersonations during "Start me Up"

Some of the highlights for me were (in no particular order):
    No Apologies - Great Live!
Raise your hands (and it being immediately followed by Have a Nice Day)
Closing the main set with Livin' on a Prayer
    Always
    Diamond Ring

    Other points:
Although I would have loved more from The Circle (Love's the Only Rule/Superman Tonight in Particular), I wasn't at all disappointed that Work for the Working Man wasn't played. Nor was I disappointed that What Do You Got was left out.

Bad Medicine with Roadhouse Blues and Shout was excellent

Lost Highway has a lot more 'muscle' than the recorded version which made it fit after the first 4, but Whole Lot of Leavin' is a bit of a downer. Also it was clear there was a whole lot of leavin' from the crowd to the bar during the song.

Who Says... didn't get the reaction from the crowd the band would have been hoping for - Personally I think it's time to give it a rest!

Finally, being a bit of a die-hard... I liked the fact that in Blood on Blood, Danny was back to being 'a medicine man'; and in Wanted, the "Loaded 6-String" was back on his back as opposed to "a guitar".

  2. Love what they've done with Lost Highway this tour. Danny was a medicine man in Perth too, but no loaded six-string, so glad you got both. ;)
