Las Vegas set list

A few welcome changes tonight... "Diamond Ring", The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues" during "Bad Medicine", and the tour debut of "Living in Sin"! There was more variation in this set than I was expecting but fans of Bon Jovi and 7800° Fahrenheit would be rightfully disappointed that those early songs Jon promised a few shows ago haven't popped up yet.

Thanks to DanielaZavolta for the PBP.

  1. Count me as one hard-core fan who is not disappointed by the lack of songs from the first two albums. There's a good reason they don't play them much ... they aren't as good as later work. Just my opinion, of course.

  2. The old songs are not easy on Jon's voice either. He can't sing them too often.

  3. At this point I'd actually rather hear King of the Mountain (which I hate) than We Got It Going On, but it won't happen. ;) The first two albums aren't as well rounded as, say, New Jersey, but IMHO there are some really underrated songs on them.

It's no secret that Jon's not quite the vocalist he used to be. But I think what has really disappointed people is that Jon specifically said they were going to play those old songs in Anaheim and then didn't.

  4. Daniel, I agree that the first 2 records aren't filled with the greatest songs, but it's a bummer to me that I only got to hear those songs back in 1985. I am not sure I remember that show much except I know what I wore (I'm a girl, we remember that, LOL) and that I was there. I'd love to hear "Silent Night" or "Only Lonely" because I love those songs. And Jon said they'd do some older stuff. I hope they start again. Not that some of the stuff they are doing doesn't count, but there are a few decent songs to choose from off the first 2 records I think. JMO though.
