My Twitter followers might have noticed in the past few weeks that I'm a huge fan of Altiyan Childs, The X Factor Australia's resident eccentric rocker. Now, this guy has polarised people from Day 1 when he botched his audition and was allowed to return, but there was just something about him that piqued my interest, and he does have a lot of fans to balance his vocal haters. In fact, Altiyan was in the top 10 trending topics worldwide on Twitter earlier tonight.
Anyway, this is a Bon Jovi blog and Altiyan took on a song that's tough at the best of times and probably a lot tougher when you've been battling tonsillitis all week. Apparently his mentor, Ronan Keating even rang Jon to ask permission to tackle "Livin' on a Prayer", lol. Here is Altiyan's intro package, performance and the judges' comments.
better than Jon & sexier tooReplyDelete
Thats pretty damn good...How stoked is Ronan!ReplyDelete
The guy is a genius and has great presence on stage!!ReplyDelete
The guy is a rock god and will become the biggest rock star this generation will ever see obsessive fan.ReplyDelete
Altiyan, I don’t liken you to any particular front-man from any popular rock band in either Australia or any other country. You are reminiscent of the likes of Joe Camilleri, Michael Hutchence, Doc Neeson or Bon Scott, to name just a few Australian Lead Singers who have/had that something special “The X Factor”. If this was just a singing competition, then I believe that Madison (on the strength of her audition with Whitney Huston’s “I have nothing”) should have won. However, the X Factor is not about emulating another’s performance(s) or perfect pitch singing alone. It is about finding someone who has the “Special Something”, “Stage Presence” and/or “Captivating Believability”. Altiyan you have all that and more “In Spades”. Whether you win this competition or not, Ronan (and many thousands of viewers) know(s) you have what it takes to be successful, not only as a recording artist, but more importantly as a “Live Performer”.ReplyDelete
I’d wish you good luck in the final, however you don’t need luck, you are a True Winner already.
God Bless you Altiyan and I can’t wait to book tickets to your first concert tour.
Altiyan, right from start I knew you would win, you are a ledgen a true star, the greatest voice next to Elvis Presley. You sing with great compassion. Love to know more about your background. We are croatian too. my email address is firstname.lastname@example.orgReplyDelete
