Garageland, Wild is the Wind, Never Say Goodbye from Belgium

Now that Bon Jovi's Circle/Greatest Hits/Open Air Tour is done and dusted, it's time to catch up on those last few video posts. ;) Starting with Belgium.

By all reports, Bruges (July 24, 2011) was a funny old show but the band did play some cool stuff. Here's a sample.

Garageland

What I love about this video is that each band member gets some air time. Wish this song had been on Crush.

Wild is the Wind

Um, Tico... what was that (at about 2:14)? :P

Never Say Goodbye

The forgotten Slippery When Wet single, but it's always appreciated when it pops up.

More videos over at Hath's Circle Tour Blog. And more to be posted here at Blame It On The Love, too.

  1. NSG is a strange case with me.
I guess to the band it's pretty forgotten. To Americans it probably is too, since 1986.

But it was on Cross Road in Europe, and it was one of the songs that I had already heard before when I listened to CR for the first time. On the other hand, I didn't know most of the post NJ stuff.

I liked it a lot back then when I was 13.
Now, I'm afraid that I just can't get into it anymore. The words are so vapid and childish, and I can totally understand 50 year old men doing it only very occasionally. BOR and IBTFY are much more timeless.

I mean, the prom? Backseat virginity loss? Heh.

  2. Haha, I guess that's a fair point... but when I listen to Bon Jovi I often don't think about the band members themselves or how they could all be my father or something. :P

I do recall Jon dropping the "backseat" line in Omaha, when they played NSG for the first time on the tour. But I don't find the song any more childish than most of their 80s singles... and I suspect some people at Bon Jovi concerts stopped listening to music in 1990 anyway. It's basically a song reminiscing about youth through rose coloured glasses.
