First of all, I know they do this every tour... but I must admit, I'm a little disappointed that they've dropped all but three This House Is Not For Sale songs, and one of the ones left is the worst song on the album. 😜

However, despite my bitching, I was actually impressed to see a set list like this, after the stagnant sets of the first leg. I was also anxious to hear how Jon would sound.

Bon Jovi reschedules concerts after Tico Torres surgery

Maybe Bon Jovi should have renamed this tour the Murphy's Law Tour...

The Because We Can Tour was scheduled to resume in Mexico City on September 10, but the band was forced to cancel when Tico Torres had an emergency appendectomy. New dates for this concert, as well as scheduled shows in Santiago, Chile and Bueno Aires, Argentina have been announced on BonJovi.com.

Jon Bon Jovi issued the following statement on the website:

Greetings from Mexico City.

Last night Tico Torres underwent an emergency appendectomy. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Tico is now recovering in the care of his doctors at the American British Cowdray Hospital. We’d like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff who helped our friend through this difficult time.

We’ll remain here with Tico in Mexico City and will see him through his release. David and I spent the day with him at the hospital and Tico sends his thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers. He wants everyone to know that it was his desire to perform. He even promised the doctors he would come back for the surgery right after the show but the doctors prevailed.

We know many of you make great efforts and travel from around the world to see us on tour. It remains our desire to give you the best that we have every night. We are sorry for any inconvenience this sudden change of plans may have caused. We’ll re-schedule any dates that we can and will continue the tour through December. Now for the Bon Jovi themed weeks that are forcing me to actually visit that godforsaken site... :P Obie has released a live audio recording of "Love for Sale" which you can listen to here or access the mp3 directly at this link. Earlier in the week, a video of "Raise Your Hands" from the O2 was released on the Videos page.

I'm a tad confused, since I thought this week was meant to be themed around Bon Jovi and 7800 Fahrenheit, but so far we've had a song from Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. I'm not complaining about the releases themselves; just wondering why the only evidence I've seen that this week is about the first two albums is the fact that merchandise related to those eras is on special. :P

I didn't tune into the stream of Live from London, given I own it on DVD and have watched it countless times on musicMAX as well, but apparently it was a huge success.

And finally, here's an interview on ABC7 with Jon Bon Jovi ahead of the Chicago shows. Jon talks about the city of Chicago, playing live, his influences and the changing music industry, and seems to imply that he DOES want to play songs from The Circle but isn't digging the reaction he's been getting to them. (I've drafted an "open letter" of sorts about The Circle which I'll post sometime during this break in the tour).
