Bon Jovi Fresno set list 8/10/13

Bon Jovi's concert in Fresno, California marked the return of Tico Torres to the stage after surgery on his appendix and gall bladder last month. It was also the day after his 60th birthday. "Amen" and "Working Man" both returned to the set, replacing "Make a Memory" and opening the encore respectively.

  1. I was at the show & Jon was ON FIRE! Fantastic show...only thing I wish was that Working Man hadn't replaced In These Arms in the encore (and that David would have gotten to sing at least part of it...) but I do like both songs, so I'm still happy.

Tico's return was a pleasant surprise as I really wasn't expecting him to come back that night. Read some tweets about it as I got to the venue, and then it was confirmed a few minutes later by Obie when I saw him in the pit. I'd say Obie's the master of understatement, but I guess there were no words to adequately describe how happy the guys were to have Tico back where he belongs, so his "very happy" was as true as could be expressed...until we actually got to see how pleased Jon was to have him back.

Where I was sitting, I had a great view of Tico between pieces of his drum kit & although I know it couldn't have been an easy thing playing the way he does so soon after two major surgeries, he didn't show it at all. He played with as much zeal & power as ever! Love him dearly.

Jon's interaction with fans was amazing! Even though I'm still strictly a Richie/David girl, I can see why people are so drawn to him. His talent as a singer & as the front man are the best.

Watching David play was, as always, so much fun. Don't know how he manages so much while still keeping his mind on playing - interacting with the fans, playing around (during Raise your Hands, Jon was saying "get 'em up! get 'em up!" and David responded but raising a leg up in the air while still playing standing on one foot. LOL) Very cute.

And Phil X was fantastic! He also is one who loves to interact with the fans...loves making crazy faces, especially when a camera is involved.

One of the things I especially loved was Hugh's reaction. While he's much more calm than the others, he still stands back & takes it all in, clearly enjoying it all.

    Great night!

  2. @fivefivegenie Couldn't agree more!! Well said. David and Phil were so much fun to watch (watching Jon was even more fun of course). The interaction was infectious. Loved that show!
