Run Rudolph Run by Jon Bon Jovi and the Philly Specials / Don't Wake Up Dead by Phil X and the Drills

Cover art for Run Rudolph Run by Jon Bon Jovi and the Philly Specials, featuring the members drawn in the style of the Peanuts cartoon.

I've always referred to this song as "Run Run Rudolph" but it's actually called "Run Rudolph Run". Whoops.

Anyway, Jon Bon Jovi joined The Philly Specials (a group of Philadelphia Eagles football players who also sing, something I did not know about until recently, being from Australia) for a cover of the Chuck Berry classic. Phil X played the guitar solo.

Check it out!

But if you're after something a little heavier to get you through the holidays, Phil X and the Drills released "Don't Wake Up Dead" with Ray Luzier from Korn earlier this month:

Regardless of your tastes, hope everyone has a wonderful festive season, a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah if you celebrate it, and a happy new year! It's always a bit crazy to think about literally anyone on the planet reading my little blog about a band from a country on the other side of the world, so thank you. 🥰

JBJ Hope Concert videos

Let's celebrate Christmas Eve with some videos of Jon Bon Jovi & Friends at Hope Concert V, which took place on December 19. Earlier that day, Jon had been the victim of an internet death hoax which he joked about throughout the night.

The Letter - originally by The Box Tops, also covered by Joe Cocker

(Ain't Nothin' But A) House Party - originally by The Showstoppers, also covered by J. Geils Band

Blue Christmas - popularized by Elvis Presley

"He ain't dead, he just smells that way!" - Southside Johnny

Run, Run Rudolph
- popularized by Chuck Berry

Jon mimes fielding calls about his "death":

Bobby Bandiera gets a kiss from Jon as he tries to get all the musicians back on stage:

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my regular and casual readers (or Happy Holidays if you don't celebrate Christmas). Here's a video of Bon Jovi performing "Run, Run Rudolph" in Sydney on December 18 (their only Christmas song for 2010).

Hope everyone has a safe holiday season, wherever you are. It's not just about amassing material wealth or getting drunk this time of year. Be sure to take a moment to remember what's most important. :)

And because I've somehow managed to not showcase this song for Blame It On The Love's previous two Christmases, here is "R2-D2, We Wish You a Merry Christmas"... John Bongiovi's first professional recording at the tender age of 17.
