I miss Richie's voice as part of the band and brand, Jon's vocals were in prime shape - best in a long time in fact - and he looked great as usual.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-483330837845516197.post-19890577221266919372013-07-30T00:30:43.210+08:002013-07-30T00:30:43.210+08:00I agree with everything posted on here. In NJ this is probably more likely than anywhere else. To keep a standard set (which has been the vast majority of this tour) is only going to disappoint the masses.

Jon has often publicly pumped up his (and the band's) own tyres by talking about not playing the same thing night after night, and by constantly changing the set... well, that has disappeared this tour. I understand they have been limited by what Phil X can cover, however for some time they have been merely rearranging the order of songs more than making substantial changes. Jon is not in the same league as someone like Springsteen when it comes to changing the set each night, and being able to play songs from all parts of their career.

To get two nights in NJ and virtually no change between them, and no change from the standard set is very disappointing. Combining that with the constant references to the band needing to "have some fun" with the Kings of Suburbia show makes me think Jon is phoning it in at the moment.

Unless we see Richie back for the Australian leg, I am pretty sure I will be able to pick the set now for my Adelaide show!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-483330837845516197.post-20912637331119926652013-07-29T10:40:04.086+08:002013-07-29T10:40:04.086+08:00I was there and was a little disappointed at the s...I was there and was a little disappointed at the set list as well, although it was a good show, as usual. She was gushing about how they played "Runaway" which made no sense to me until she said it was her first show in 30 years of fandom. I have to remind myself sometimes that while I am not thrilled with their set lists anymore, somewhere out there in the audiences are first-timers who are giddy just to be at the dance.Shannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07834516052278869035noreply@blogger.com
