Did you go to the Uncasville Show, Linn in CT?

Andy, you tell em! As a performing musician myself, I know enough about playing shows (and music in general) to be able to have an educated conversation with other fans about the strengths and weaknesses of their (his/Jon's) decision making.

But the rest you got pretty spot on. They put on the best show around and they are by far the most interesting band (to me anyway). I have given them their due 11 times total the last 10 years (two times in Chicago, last Fall). Giving them their due this tour is like giving them their due 4 times on the One Wild Night Tour.... just so you know. And that is not to mention buying all of their cds more than once, as well as imports, merch, and so on.

I can go on all day about what I'd do differently in their shoes, but in the end they are more successful than they have ever been... and well I am doing well enough to get to see them a few times this tour. BUT if Jon said, "Okay hot shot, write me your set list." I would and I would do a fine job. I am not under the illusion that they could just play the Faith and These Days albums back to back and keep everyone interested... though it would be pretty awesome. I know the need for Bad Name and Wanted and Who Says (though I think it could be alternated), even though I could care less if I ever heard them live again (and that is just me, others love them... Bad name and Wanted anyway). HOWEVER, songs like Lost Highway and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead DO NOT need to be played every show. We Got It Going On, although I disliked it on the record, I get it live. It works. However, Work for the Working Man does not, especially in the place of far superior songs like Thorn, Love's the Only Rule, and BrokenPromiseLand.bounce442noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-483330837845516197.post-83019453969286413112011-03-12T11:53:22.392+08:002011-03-12T11:53:22.392+08:00Bounce442.....Central Park 2008 was the last time ...Bounce442.....Central Park 2008 was the last time I remember them opening with Prayer. -Linn in CTAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-483330837845516197.post-21220961343044267022011-03-11T03:41:59.811+08:002011-03-11T03:41:59.811+08:00Im 52 years old, grew up with Bon Jovi, have seen ...Im 52 years old, grew up with Bon Jovi, have seen them 3 times in Chicago and have yet to be disappointed. Give the guys their due, obviously after nearly 30 years they sure arent doing this for the money and yet the energy, spot on arrangements, and the ability to engage their audience hasnt waivered since back when they were a hungry band. As a performing musician myself, I know what it takes to physically and mentally be at your peak night after night, and, they wore me out just watching them. Keep it up guys, keep the faith, and ignore all these so called experts that bash you at every turn and never give you your due. Playing the same city 4 times in the same year you'd think they'd look at past set lists.

On a different note, when was the last time they'd opened with Prayer? It's been a while.bounce442http://www.sundancephotographyokc.comnoreply@blogger.com
