Bon Jovi Chicago set list 23/10/13

It's only been a little over three months since Bon Jovi's last concert in Chicago. And I suspect that oversaturating the market over the past few years has more to do with the reportedly poor ticket sales this leg than the continuing absence of Richie Sambora, but I've heard mixed reviews about this show. Were you there?

  1. I think what you said about oversaturating is true and no doubt the Richie thing has taken its toll. I think more than those two, they are basically playing the same show over and over and over. There are very minor set list changes and I think it has created a lack of interest. At least for the die hard fans. I mean, since this leg has started, no one is even commenting on the shows anymore.

    1. I totally agree about it being the same show over and over. I know folks have discussed that many times before as well. I've seen them 5 times in the past 10 years and then declared that I was done, which shocked everyone who knows me since they don't know a bigger fan of the band than me (I'm sure they exist, but my friends just don't know 'em! LOL). I just have no interest in seeing the same show anymore. It was a great one...a few years ago. But there are diehards who want to see the band regardless. I'm just not one of 'em.

  2. Jon & the rest of the guys are giving it there all & I admire them for continuing on. If Richie had stayed the shows & setlists would be a little different but I believe attendance would still be down.

I look forward to seeing them again in a few years no matter who's there or not. Jon won't quit for good though. He lovers writing songs & performing to much still to quit.

  3. I was there. The crowd participation was dismal. The band gave it their all to a very tough crowd. Jon looked tired, but looking at their schedule, who wouldn't be? There was a heavy groupon ticket push even the day before the show. My guess is that the arena was filled with a lot of casual fans wanting a greatest hits set list.
