Lost and Found: These Days

Chris Calarco recently wrote a great blog post reviewing what Bon Jovi's These Days album means to him.
As I finished my junior year of high school the band released their sixth LP These Days. It was a time of darkness and disillusionment in my life as I lay deep in the muck and depression of heartbreak. I strayed from my friends that summer as my passion for baseball, my other childhood love, faded. It was like Don Henley’s “The End of the Innocence” was plastered inside my heart. Instead of the former Eagle, I listened to These Days.
Read the full post at his website. It's a great story about the healing power of music and, given the popularity of the album among diehard fans, probably something a lot of us can relate to.

Want to open for Bon Jovi? Get on YuuZoo!

This might be a cool opportunity for any up and coming bands out there...
Know anyone in the world who wants a shot at performing alongside Bon Jovi, Blink 182, Foo Fighters and Incubus in North Beach, New Jersey?

Time to flick them this link. Social network provider YuuZoo is launching its contest The Break in Australia Wednesday which will give six amateur bands the chance to appear in line-up of music festival The Bamboozle which runs from May 18 to May 20.

Almost 1,000 bands have registered, a third of the target, and though five will selected mainly based on their performances which will be live streamed and recorded on YuuZoo, one band will book its place simply by having the most ‘likes’, in Facebook speak.
Read the rest of the article and find out more about The Break Contest here.

JBJ on Person to Person

Jon will be on CBS' Person to Person. Here's the media release:
CBS News’ iconic PERSON TO PERSON will air as a television special on Wednesday, Feb. 8 (8:00 PM, ET/PT). Meet today’s legends and newsmakers, not in public, but in private – inside their homes, inside their lives. George Clooney gives Logan and Rose a tour of his Los Angeles home, while Warren Buffett opens the door to his Omaha office, and Jon Bon Jovi welcomes PERSON TO PERSON to his magnificent home on the Navesink River in New Jersey, including his private recording studio. Actor George Clooney, billionaire Warren Buffett and rocker Jon Bon Jovi share their most prized possessions and the unforgettable stories behind them.

“What sets our broadcast apart is the unique access,” says Executive Producer Susan Zirinsky.

“When someone opens their home, they’re sharing a part of themselves that traditional interview programs can’t reach,” added Co-Executive Producer Judy Tygard.

When he originated the broadcast in 1953, Edward R. Murrow took viewers into the homes of icons like John and Jacqueline Kennedy, Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, and Elizabeth Taylor. Today, more than 50 years later, the allure of a rare glimpse behind the public personas of some of our most beloved and respected cultural icons remains. PERSON TO PERSON shows you how Hollywood’s most popular leading man unwinds away from the lenses of the paparazzi, where perhaps the world’s most successful investor conducts his billion-dollar deals, and the home studio where one of the world’s most legendary rockers composes and records his music.

Building on Murrow’s legacy, Logan and Rose will bring PERSON TO PERSON to a new generation. Susan Zirinsky and Judy Tygard are the co-executive producers of the broadcast.

Richie Sambora teases his new album #richiesamborasolorecord

A couple of videos that were recently tweeted by Richie Sambora and Luke Ebbin...

Richie now also has profiles on Facebook and Google+ but Twitter's where most of the action is.

You can also keep an eye on the hashtag #richiesamborasolorecord, maybe even set up a stream/column for it if you're using a Twitter client like TweetDeck or HootSuite. ;)
